Oh, you are actually reading the About page. I am flattered. I had better introduce myself, then.

Hello. I am Shaun. I am old, blind, and live in Manchester in the UK. Welcome to Slight Perception, which exists so I have somewhere to put my software where other people can get at it.

As a screen reader user, I am excited that the tools now exist to fix some of the accessibility problems that have infuriated all of us for years. Every app here started as me solving a problem for myself, and I am hoping a few of them turn out to be useful to somebody else as well.

How the software is built

I am not a professional developer. Everything here is currently built with Claude Code. I did write code a long time ago, so I know what good structure looks like, and I run regular code audits on every project: repeated code that should be one function, variables that are no longer used, blocks that no longer do anything. Those get cleaned up rather than left to pile up.

What I am, first and last, is a user of this software. If it is not accessible, I cannot use it, so accessibility is where each project starts rather than something bolted on at the end.

Everything is free and open source. The code for each project is linked from its own page.

If you are reporting something that is not working, it helps enormously to know which app, which version, and which screen reader you are using. No need to write a formal report, just tell me what happened.
